Calci worms are the larvae of the black soldier fly. They are high in calcium and protein and make a great feeder insect for many birds, reptiles and even hedgehogs. As there calcium levels are so high they wont need dusting which can be an off put for some animals. A combination of all of the above make them a great staple feeder insect to add to your animals diet.
Stored at a cool temperature or even refrigerated they can last several weeks. A small amount of water may need to be added for moisture if they are drying out.
During the colder months they can appear inactive on arrival but will soon come round when warmed up.
